Mitch hitting the “Launch” button on the Kickstarter

At the beginning of the current Kickstarter campaign for Blank, we had a Launch Party at the Blank Shop to get the whole thing going. There was a fair amount of stress leading up to the event (case in point, Kickstarter didn’t finally approve the project for launch until 12n the day before). But it ended up being a great time with a lot of wonderful people, and thinking back, I can’t think of a better way to get it all started.

Overall, the event was a lot of Party, just a little bit of Launch, and ended up being the perfect balance. Friends old and new came out – some stopped by for a bit, and most stayed for the entire evening. We had backyard barbeque food, and a beer potluck which filled a very large cooler. We also had a photo booth where everyone could check out the bag and get their picture taken, and below are a few of those photos.

For the most part, I was able to hang out with friends, colleagues & neighbors, and about half way through the evening, we got the Kickstarter off the ground. I gave everyone a short rundown on the Launch, at the request of the crowd we watched the video, and then Mitch (our 5 yr old boy) helped me hit the Launch button on the Kickstarter.

And everything was underway.

For the rest of the night, we hung out, talked with friends, and everything wrapped up a little before midnight. It was great – Thank You to everyone who was able to make it out. I had a wonderful time & I hope you all did too.
