There have been so many things going on here at Blank that I have not yet had a chance to mention the Portland Made Launch Party which I attended a couple of weeks ago. Portland Made is a new collective of designers, makers, retailers, and manufacturers from Portland, and their plan is to be the hub for all of these people in Portland.
Here in Portland we have an incredible collection of makers & doers unlike any other place I have been before, and Portland Made is bringing focus to this group collectively. They are helping to make connections, both within the group, and around the world.
The party was at ADX, and our mayor, Charlie Hales, was in attendance and had some inspirational words for the crowds as the collective officially launched. I had the opportunity to meet a few new people from around town, including Andrew Moe from studiomoe (if you’re in need of some nice furniture, you should to talk to this man). I also had a chance to catch up with friends from Spooltown and Krown Lab.
It was a great launch, and I can’t wait to see how Portland Made grows and develops going forward!
